  4. This is a great concept for a book series I love that these mysteries are in short story version It is fun for kids to have a couple try s at guessing various mysteries and not just have one overly complicated and drawn out story these stories are great for socializing with, discussing with others and sharing because they are so short, everyone is able to guess and then look to the back for the answer Besides super popular children s series, there aren t many kids books that are structured for r [...]

  5. I choose this book because I had to read it for lit 4 success class.Brown always solves the case by exposing this inconsistency, in the Answers section in the back of the book.Encyclopedia solves these cases by briefly closing his eyes while he thinks deeply, then asking a single question which directly leads to him finding the solution the stamp collecter is leaving town at five o clock it s aready four thirt.I ll have to hang on to the gym bag and the stamp collection until i can identify the [...]

  6. I really enjoyed Encyclopedia Brown I think that this series is fun and makes children think outside of the box as they have to solve these mysteries I think that the fact that he is 10 years old makes the series relate able and shows children that just because your kid does not mean that can t achieve something great This series shows that when you study something out in your mind and work hard you can accomplish things that others wouldn t think were possible I think that this series will be [...]

  7. This is a good series of mysteries for young readers I think it is very appropriate for kids because it deals with relateable things It is a compilation of short story mysteries and I like how readers have to flip to the back of the book to find out the solution When I was reading it I even skipped over some details because I was maybe reading too fast It really teaches readers to pay close attention to what they are reading I think that is something a lot of children need help with improving so [...]

With a knack for trivia, Encyclopedia solves mysteries for the neighborhood kids through his own detective agency But his dad is also the chief of police, and every night Encyclopedia helps him solve his most baffling crimes Join Encyclopedia Brown as he solves ten new and even confounding mysteries, including a case of a stolen watch, disappearing money, a headless ghost, and And with the clues given in each case, you can solve these mysteries too Interactive and chock full of interesting bit [...]

  10. I really liked this book I loved the way the readers had the opportunity to solve the mystery before they read what and how Encyclopedia solved it I was really confused at first at how they organized it but once I read a couple of the mysteries I felt I knew what Encyclopedia would be looking for so I would look in the same way I think this would be great for introducing analyzing and getting meaning from the stories we read because this is a book that has the answer hidden within the story I th [...]

  11. This is a super fun book I like the subtle underlying messages that dictate that good will always prevail, bullying stinks, etc This is a great added bonus to the already clever content that this book presents It s a wonderful twist on mystery books that is designed to encourage the child to be observant and on the lookout for clues throughout each story I highly recommend this for reading time in any younger elementary classroom.

  12. I really think that this book is great for the classroom I really liked being able to read each case and find the solution in the back of the book I thought that was fun, and I know that children would really enjoy this book I did think the situations were a little bit unrealistic for that age group, but other than that, it was a great book It was very well written and a fun read I give it 5 5 stars

  13. I remember reading these when I was a kid and I loved them because some of the mysteries stump and others you re able to solve It was just the right amount of difficulty to make the books interesting without being too hard where I wanted to give up reading them Plus I always felt like a super genius detective when I could piece together all the clues before looking in the back of the book for the answer to the mystery.

  14. Wowdid I get smarter, or did the books get dumber I remember not being able to solve any of these as a kid, but I got most of them this time around We listened to this with the kids on the way back from a vacation, and it was kind of fun as a family to read it together But, man, is this stuff corny I think I ll leave the Encyclopedia Brown books to my kids in the future Consider me finally graduated.

  15. I wasn t a huge fan of Encyclopedia Brown I thought that the stories were very random and didn t go together I didn t like how it was so choppy Though I do think that it would be fun for the children to try and guess what happens before they read the answers in the back of the book I think you could take it even further and act out a mystery, this book inspires that Overall, it was an okay book.

  16. These Encyclopedia Brown books are the perfect mystery series for older children but can be enjoyed by all ages They include several short mysteries that are clever, yet simple enough that readers will have fun trying to solve themselves I enjoy how the mysteries are short so that it s not hard keeping track of all the clues.

  17. This is an okay mystery book The problem I found with it is that it doesn t cause the reader to think to hard in many cases It is almost too obvious It is a children s book so I understand that it is meant for younger readers, but I have read plenty of other mystery books that are much engaging than this one Not a terrible read but nothing spectacular.

  18. This book is a wonderful book that I would like to have on my bookshelf for third graders, because as we read it as a group I can ask questions on how they think the mysteries are solved before they find out how he really did it This would be a good book for them to learn how to write their own stories.

  19. These mystery books are so god for students in 3rd 4th grade They are definitely a quick read but they are fun and will keep the students attention with its short chapters Also because the book is set up to have the solutions to the mysteries at the back of the book the students will be able to try and solve the mysteries on their own first.

  20. Ive always enjoyed these books a ton I remember always having read them as a kid and thinking that Encyclopedia Brown was the coolest dude ever Reading them as an adult, a few of the cases and mysteries can be a bit difficult Definitely recommend for all students

  21. Encyclopedia goes to a football game It was the Idavelle sluggers against the Idavelle gators Shoeless Sam was accused of cheating Shoeless Sam always played bearfoot the other teame cheated not Shoeless Sam

  22. I liked it In one baseball game, this guy is really good and he may break the homerun record, so the other team thinks of a plan to stop him if he does, so they turn over 3rd base after he stepped on it so it looks like he didn t step on it So he has to prove that.

  23. Encyclopedia Brown certainly stays busy He s solving crimes again in the city of Idaville where his father is the police chief Encyclopedia has a knack for listening to the details and solving the crimes that no one else seems able to figure out.

  24. I read this for a book club I m running It s pretty good I ve liked Encyclopedia since I was a kid so I m biased Great for kids who like mysteries.

  25. This is an easy read and I would definitely read it to a class They are short mysteries and for the most part easy to follow.

  26. This was really great I loved the the idea of short mysteries and having the answers in the back I enjoyed the little the things that you can figure it out yourself.
